Estacion Esperanza

Leisure activities

Drug abuse, street crime, gangs, and teenage pregnancies are part of our daily life.

What is missing

Young people lack role models, clear rules, structures and control from home, as well as attractive alternatives to life on the street.

A variety of programs are designed to
strengthen social relationships beyond the family

Prevention

Therefore, prevention work is an important field of our work at Estación Esperanza. A variety of programs are designed to strengthen social relationships beyond the family and thus create a good atmosphere that in turn has a positive influence on the growth and development of the minors.

Leisure projects

Leisure projects of various kinds are helpful in this regard. This supports the personal development of children and young people. They learn new skills and get adequate assistance. Furthermore, they are offered an alternative to “being on the street” during their free time. They can cultivate friendships in a safe environment. In addition, a person of trust is on hand to provide advice and support, even outside our activities. Since the team of Estación Esperanza lives in the project house of the slum, the threshold for asking for help at any time became a lot lower.

We offer:

Teenagers’ Club and Kids Meeting (from community games and handicrafts to youth camps outside the well-known residential areas)

Floorball for young and old

Dance and English lessons

Music lessons (piano, guitar, and cajon)

Bible conversations

Group leader training

Youth room with ping-pong, table football, etc.

Sunday school (a transport service is available for children whose parents do not accompany them)
